Kate Hanley Corley

Nervous Breakdance

  • Australia

Nervous Breakdance is a mix of stand up and fantastic songs that marry brilliant and incisive comedy to create an atmosphere where madness and reality are intertwined.

Fresh from Adelaide Fringe Kate jokes about the isolation of motherhood, the loss of identity, difficult toddlers, challenging teens, post-natal depression, sex, ageing, marriage and menopause.

Kate Corley's energetic and borderline offensive, wonderfully twisted humour kept me entertained. If you like your comedy twisted, check out Nervous Breakdance! – Adelaide Adventurer, Adelaide Fringe 2025

Kate is brilliantly funny and clever in her reinvention of the MILF (Mother I’d Like To Fringe) with her blend of stand up comedy, musical parody and way of framing reality in an absurd perspective. I loved the colour of her costumes, the silliest of props including a certain country king’s plait and the variety of music and material spoofed in her creation, one perfect hour of completely random and unrelated hilarity.

'Kate is amazing. Wonderful songs, brilliant accents, cheeky, sharp wit & insane energy & volume of material. A born entertainer & delight to watch!' Melbourne Fringe Crowd Pleaser comment.

'Shaken, not stirred, 4.5 stars!' The Lonely Archaeologist, Adelaide Fringe 2025

'...an admirable ability to keep the audience in ‘oh wow, is she really going there... You’ll laugh. A lot.' – Chuck Moore, reviewer, Melbourne Fringe 2024.

'This show is for everyone, even men.' Adrian Hill, Adelaide What's On (Tight Mums Loose Units, Adelaide Fringe 2024)
